A Garden In Bloom

The William Paca Garden is a such special place in the springtime. We are pleased to welcome visitors back to the Garden as spring brings riots of color to our secret garden.

The William Paca Garden at 186 Prince George Street in Annapolis, MD is now open for guided and self-guided tours, Thursdays through Sundays from 10 am to 2:30 pm each day.

As you wander through the garden, you'll find spring flowers bursting into bloom. Stroll through the Rose Parterre and enjoy these perennials and our first roses of the season!

In the Boxwood Parterre, you'll find gorgeous white and green-tinged hellebores, also known as Lenten Roses. These rose-like spring flowers love partial shade and rich, but well-draining, soil. You'll also find more hellebores in gorgeous purples as you walk down through the orchard and past the pear arbor.

In the Holly Parterre, you'll find the delicate snowflake, a dainty spring bulb with pretty white flowers.

Back in the wilderness by the Summerhouse, you'll find a flowering deciduous shrub, Fothergilla. On the right, our special Washington's Buckeye tree is just beginning to flower. Learn more about the Washington's Buckeye tree in one of our past blog posts!

Stop by and visit the William Paca Garden soon and witness spring in all its glory. There is nothing quite like enjoying the peace of this special oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Annapolis!
